Intro to the Knightly Arts
Saturday, November 26, 2011 3pm-7pm
Over the course of four hours you will learn the fundamentals of
Armizare; a martial system first taught by Italian Knight Fiore dei
Liberi in the 14th century. You will build confidence in unarmed
combat, longsword, spear/quarterstaff, and sword and shield as you
practice posture, movement, attack, defense, and fundamental strategy.
This is a hands on workshop ideal for adult beginners of all age
levels and physical abilities. All the swordplay equipment required to
participate is provided. At the end you will have the prerequisites
required to continue your studies at Academie Duello in the Warrior
Program or in our Longsword, Poleweapon, and Sword & Shield workshops.

Intro to Stage Combat

In this intensive 4-hour workshop, we’ll cover the basics of stage combat, including:
▪ Slaps
▪ Punches
▪ Chokes
▪ Push and fall
▪ Sword parries and footwork
▪ Sword thrusts and cuts
▪ Playing wounds
Anyone who performs fights for entertainment needs to know these essentials, whether you’re acting in plays or film, or performing fight demonstrations. It is also a prerequisite to starting the Basic Stage Combat Program.
