The Internet has been a great boon to us as historical swordplay practitioners. 15 years ago access to resources regarding historical fencing were much harder to come by and generally required actuallyvisiting repositories of historical manuals. Now through the power of the Internet you can have high quality copies of nearly any manuscript and the ability to connect and collaborate with others is unprecedented. Now the problem has gone from scarcity to wading through abundance. Here are a few sites I think are worth looking at:

Roger Norling a member of the Gothenburg Sword School has been running and maintaining this site for several years and does a great job of pulling together articles, news, and resources pertaining to Historical European Martial Arts from around the world. Much of the focus is on the scene in Europe, which is great to get a view of especially for us here in North America. At the time Vancouver's visiting Portuguese dignitary Luis Preto has an article up about teaching Martial Arts which is quite interesting.

This Hungarian school fo European Martial Arts has put together a fairly exhaustive database of historical fencing treatises, bits of information about them, and where to track down online or for-purchase facsimiles.
